Clyde Davis Eddleman (1902-1992) was born in Orange, Texas. From West Point, he commissioned in the infantry in 1924. He graduated from the Command and General Staff School in 1938 and the Army War College in 1955. From November 1941 to January 1943, he served as chief of the training division, then assistant chief of staff of Third Army. He then was deputy chief of staff of Sixth Army until December 1945.
